This is an annual event in our county that I always take my mother through. But this year it was 14 degrees, a light freezing rain and there was no way I was bringing my 93 year old mom out on a night like that. But me and the kids were off because it is their friends who participate and my son provides a trailer and some labor too. The line of cars wraps out the Church's lane and onto the highway and as you approach the first scene your headlights can be turned off because the Lane is lighted with luminaries and each scene has spotlight(s) on it. Remnants of snow are visible but I did what I could to rid the glare.
This is surely a labor of love. It is a journey through Christ's Life from before He was born till His resurrection. It was amazing that these dear people stood out in that weather for two hours. We were sure the crowd would be naught, but no, the turn out was wonderful. They do it Friday and Saturday night and if you offer a donation they decline. Obviously animals are brought in and the Vet next to the Church gives them board for the week end. It is a thing of Beauty all around.
