This was my beginning attempts at abstract. HollyKl inspires all of us in the NVP group with her amazing abstracts. With her encouragement and inspiration I plunged in. It is so much fun to take a simple picture or a muffed picture and turn it into something quite interesting.

HollyKl explained in a previous article that abstract is anything that changes reality. Once I read that very precise definition the light bulb went off and I went off to play. Hope you enjoy some of what can be done with paintshop and other photo shops; long after you take your picture(s).

Abstract has been a new adventure for a few of us in the NVP group and has proven to be a lot of fun. Hope you give your hand a try at it and see how inventive, pretty and well, sometimes weird some of your pictures can become.

Wonderful examples, Anna! It's true that Holly's photos are an inspiration, but I'll just add, that your kaleidoscope photos inspired me to experiment! I love the intricate designs created by lines and repetition!

But my favorites are the ring holder abstracts, which clearly demonstrate your visual creativity -- and your creative captions! *grins*

Thank you etva. hmmm, lines and repetition: I think that's it also! Plus composition! You have taught me much about watching for that too.

My arguing ring holders turned out so funny;) It was like I made a little cartoon. ((((etva))))

I love you both and bop back and forth between your articles and photos, so silly of me. I hope to figure out this year how you do this with your photos. I am still a Plain Jane with my camera, but still enjoy it.

Loved this kind of morphing of the reality. Very striking. The first one seeming quite bizarre but absolutely stunning. I could just imagine that blown up and hanging on a large wall in some contemporary apartment...! Could actually be done in various colours too which would make it very commercial, IMO.

Thanks Teresa. I did try it in a few different colors and decided red was best with my black camera reflecting in the handle.

Pretty amazing, Anna! Sadly, I have no photography skills. In fact, I am terrible both in front and behind the camera! But, I do admire good photography, and these abstracts you have here are lovely.

You are welcome, Anna. Btw, do you know if I can upload a slide show on a microsoft powerpoint that I received from a friend (an incredible one about dogs) to Newsvine? It is something all the pet lovers on NV would love, but I don't know whether or how I can share it! Being a photographer yourself, maybe you might know.
